The church where you live wishes to contribute with space, so that children, young people and their family and friends can meet, learn about faith and know how they can practise their faith.
This is called Christian Education, and is offered to children and young people from the age of 0 to 18. Everyone is welcome to participate, whether you belong to another community of faith, or if you are not baptised.
Ever since the founding of the Christian Church, teaching about the Christian faith has taken place. The contents of Christian faith has been delivered from generation to generation, while the methods of learning have varied over time.
Explore the faith trough activities
The congregations in the Church of Norway invite to various events where the contents of faith are given space through experiences, play and activities.
Baby song, distribution of the “Four-year-old book”, camps or church sleep-over events, pilgrimages and confirmation are examples of actions where expressions of faith are taught and experienced in communion with others.
Many congregations have regular activities for various ages, such as choirs, Sunday school, scouts and other interest groups.
Combined these elements give depth and meaning to Christian Education.
All can participate i Christian Education in church
You or your child do not need to be members of the Church of Norway to participate in the activities offered by the congregations. Christian Education in the congregations will be facilitated so that anyone who wishes to may participate.
Christian education is for everyone, independent of abilities, situation in life, gender, ethnicity or other.
